About the Role:

Neurocrine Biosciences, Inc. (NASDAQ: NBIX) is offering the opportunity to gain Corporate Communications experience in the world of biotechnology. Our intern program offers exposure to internal/employee communications through creation of communications for various channels, employee engagement initiatives, and cross-functional collaboration in support of our commercial products, pipeline, and corporate story and vision.

Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to):
  • Assist in drafting communications for employees, including emails, newsletter articles, and intranet announcements

  • Assist in the development of communication materials, such as presentations and training resources

  • Support the planning and coordination of internal events and meetings

  • Assist with the creation and management of office signage

  • Collaborate with various departments and cross-functional team members as well as the other interns in the class

  • Provide administrative support for corporate communications projects and initiatives

  • Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of internal communication strategies and provide insights for improvement

  • Complete a special project and present the recommendations to senior management upon completion

  • Other duties, as assigned

Requirements:
  • Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree with an interest in biotechnology

  • An undergraduate degree in Communications preferred

  • Prior experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry would be an asset but is not required

  • Familiarity with biopharmaceutical technologies, physical and life sciences, product development, and regulatory approval processes is desirable

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to think creatively and be a team player

  • Offer flexibility with a willingness to work on multiple projects simultaneously

  • Bring to the Company a skill set complementary to its technology and development therapeutics

  • Interest in attending various program events, including social gatherings, career development workshops, and more

  • Ability to commit to a 10-week, full-time summer program
