About this Position:
Sony Interactive Entertainment is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to become part of an Enterprise Data Engineering organization that provides corporate data and analytics services. The candidate will be joining the San Diego-based Data Engineering team and working on implementing leading-edge analytic applications using tools such as Domo, Tableau, Snowflake, & Ab Initio. They will be expected to work closely with the customers to identify solutions and opportunities to support business decision-making, generate forward-looking insights, and enhance business operations.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in designing, building, testing, and maintaining scalable data analytics systems (pipeline, warehouse, API)
- Build and support data pipelines to extract and transform data for enterprise analytics.
- Create data structures and data storage systems for optimal querying - Snowflake, Databricks, Postgres, MySQL.
- Assist the data analysts in creating actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency, and other key business performance metrics
- Implement process improvements: monitoring, automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, and recommending architectures.
- Provide automated data validation processes
Qualifications
- Bachelors or Master's in computer science, Engineering, Mathematics or related
- 10+ professional experience working in the field of data
- 5+ years of experience working extensively with databases & warehouses
- Experience with Snowflake preferred
- 5+ years of experience developing data pipelines (ETL/ELT)
- Strong with SQL and experience with at least one programming language (Python, Java)
- Experience with calling RESTful API services & Big Data technologies in AWS
- Data modeling skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work as an Agile team member with minimal supervision
- Proactive, Self-Starter who is willing to get their hands dirty to get tasks completed
- Data Science and AI/ML knowledge or experience helpful

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
