Job Description Summary
The Charles L. Blount Center and Blount Hall serve as outreach and educational facilities in the heart of downtown Gainesville, and are close to the University of Florida, UF Innovate, CareerSource and East Gainesville.The Blount Center is seeking a student employee to provide administrative and office support to the faculty, staff, students, and visitors of the Center during the evenings from 4:00pm-8:00pm for up to 22 hours per week.
Job Description
Responsibilities and Duties Include:
Provides service excellence with a professional, helpful, and welcoming atmosphere by greeting, responding to, and directing visitors in-person and over the phone at the Blount Center.
Distributes mail and office supplies and operates and maintains copier/printer.
Accepts, screens, and routes telephone calls concerning activities and operations of the Center, directing inquiries as appropriate and/or providing information.
Assists with the day-to-day maintenance and responsibilities of assigned area, including updating bulletin boards, refilling copier machines, replacing classroom supplies, and emptying the shredder.
Assists with events which may include setup and breakdown, accumulating necessary materials, participation in the event with collecting attendance, distribution of materials, hospitality services and clean up.
Provides administrative support to the faculty and staff.
Strictly honors the privacy and security of student records and other sensitive information according to appropriate state, federal and college regulations, policies, and procedures.
Complies with all published College Rules, procedures, guidelines, and laws/regulations governing public employees, including but not limited to those related to document retention and destruction, FERPA, and confidentiality.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Reports to: Office Supervisor, Blount Center
QUALIFICATIONS
Required: Must be a currently enrolled Santa Fe College student, in good academic standing, taking six (6) or more credit hours.
Additional Requirements: A criminal background check will be conducted.

Able to plan, schedule, and organize tasks related to the job to achieve goals within or ahead of established time frames.
Proven skills in identifying issues, determining their cause, developing creative solutions, and following through with implementing resolutions.
Proven accuracy and attention to detail.
