Position overview Position title: Psychiatry Research Faculty
Salary range: The posted UC Salary scales set the minimum pay at the appointment as determined by appointment type and if applicable, rank and/or step. The base pay range for this position is $90,700 - $238,300. Salary is negotiated annually. Additional compensation may be available if the position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan. Position description

The Department of Psychiatry within the School of Medicine at UC San Diego (https://psychiatry.ucsd.edu/) is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff and student body. UC San Diego Psychiatry faculty provide exceptional clinical care, cutting-edge research, and educational excellence.

We are seeking outstanding applicants for non-tenured/non-tenure track faculty positions.

The selected candidates will be responsible for developing an independent extramurally funded research program and will have teaching duties which may include lecturing and mentoring in our various educational programs (see https://psychiatry.ucsd.edu/education-training/index.html).

The successful candidates' research focus will be in at least one of the areas of research expertise in the department, including, but not limited to, neurocognitive disorders, eating disorders, addiction, mood regulation, central nervous system signaling pathways, neuromodulation, genetics, biomarkers, learning and memory, and the endocannabinoid system (see https://psychiatry.ucsd.edu/research/programs-centers/index.html).

The selected candidates may have the opportunity to provide clinical care depending on the department's needs and the candidate's training and experience in the relevant clinical area.

The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate's background and experience.

As a member of the Health Sciences Compensation Plan, the appointee should be aware that there are limitations on outside professional activities and clinical moonlighting is expressly prohibited. Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

Candidates must have a MD, DO, or equivalent, or a PhD or equivalent in the areas of neuropsychiatric disorders.

Candidates must have a current research program in a health related discipline, with at least one year of productivity and at least one first-authored peer-reviewed publication.

Candidates must also have more than one year experience in teaching and/or mentorship activities.

Candidates with a MD, DO, or equivalent with clinical duties must have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board.

Candidates with a PhD or equivalent with clinical duties must have graduated from an APA-accredited doctoral program which includes completion of an APA-accredited internship.
