Testing Center Supervisor

Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Testing Center Supervisor manages all functions at the college’s testing centers at the CentreTech, Lowry, and Buckley campuses. The testing centers offer many testing services including placement testing (including Self Assessments), CLEP, DSST, Pearson VUE, Meazure Learning, National Testing Network (NTN), National Center for Competency Tests (NCCT), HiSET, Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) Exams, Spanish Placement Test, classroom make-up and accommodated tests, and distance education proctoring.
 The coordinator oversees the main functions, which includes but is not limited to: ensures staff coverage at multiple locations, manages Accuplacer unit allocations, user accounts, and serves as the primary/main test administrator and contact for all outside testing agencies. Additionally, the Coordinator will manage the testing center budget and implement additional testing services to offer to both CCA students, faculty and staff, and community members. 
 The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, leadership and management skills, and be a forward thinker who can help to share the direction of the testing center. The candidate must possess excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills. 


OVERVIEW OF CCA

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Testing Functions 

  • Oversee the college’s student assessment activities including placement testing for both regular and ESL classes. 
  • Direct CLEP, DSST, PearsonVUE, Meazure Learning, NTN, NCCT, HiSET and distance education proctoring to include vendor relations, upgrades, contracts, new tests, and pricing. 
  • Support proctoring services at the Testing Center at Buckley Space Force Base for CLEP, DSST and possible future assessment offerings.
  • Supports the college’s make-up and accommodated testing needs at both the CentreTech and Lowry Campuses to include proctoring, scheduling, and coordination with Academic Success Faculty and Staff.
  • Manage the testing center budgets and implement additional testing services to offer to CCA students, faculty and staff and community members. 
  • Must acquire testing administrator and proctor eligibility within first month of employment and must remain eligible for current and future tests throughout employment at CCA. 
  • Regularly reviews placement questionnaires and the various testing sponsor partnerships to ensure we are meeting, exceeding, and anticipating the needs of CCA students and the community.
  • Regularly seeks out additional testing partnerships to meet the changing needs of CCA students and the community.
  • Updates the department’s webpages to provide effective communication to students, faculty and staff, and community members, regarding services.
  • Consult and collaborate with Academic Chairs and Deans to implement new tests for CCA students.
  • Assists with data analysis of measuring outcomes related to the English and math placement forms.
 Accountability and Integrity 
  • Write, implement and maintain policies to uphold confidentiality and security of all testing materials, test logs, other test documents as well as policies surrounding cheating and dishonesty. 
  • Train staff and ensure they remain vigilant and pay close attention to cheating or preventing cheating. 
  • Ensure a quiet atmosphere appropriate for testing is maintained in all locations of the Testing Center, including remote/virtual testing environments. 
  • Document and present any cases of cheating or test-taker dishonesty according to Testing Center policies and the CCA Student Code of Conduct. 
  • Ensure that staff uploads scores into Banner in a timely manner and that any discrepancies are corrected.
  • Maintains regular reports and data that details tests offered.  Reports are used for both scheduling and decision making as well as availability to leadership as requested. 
 Payment and Budgetary Functions 
  • Determine assessment costs and monitor deposits and auxiliary budget balances.
  • Initiate the purchasing process for testing units and supplies.
  • Evaluate and implement additional income producing testing opportunities as appropriate.
Supervision & Training 
  • Ensure coverage of the testing center locations year-around which includes scheduling additional testing sessions and proctors for peak periods as needed.
  • Coordinate training on Banner, RegisterBlast, Navigate, Accuplacer, FormStack, D2L and other applicable systems to Testing Center staff as appropriate. 
  • Hire, train and supervise Testing Specialists. 
  • Actively works with team members to ensure they are meeting personal and professional goals.  Develops growth plans as needed.
  • Write and maintain a procedures manual, a department manual and any other procedures, as needed.
  • Plan and implement any changes regarding testing procedures, staffing or physical environment.
  • Articulate, communicate and ensure all team members contribute to the vision of the testing center.
  • Model best practices for inclusion, equity and diversity.
College, Community and State-Wide Representation 
  • Build relationships with college staff to ensure that assessment, testing any other assessment related needs are being met, including services to staff and faculty.
  • Communicate with college staff and faculty periodically to inform of any new developments or changes in testing policies or services. 
  • Represent the college at the National College Testing Association (NCTA), Rocky Mountain College Testing Association (RMCTA), and CCCS Testing group meetings.
  • Supports Concurrent Enrollment’s Accuplacer testing process at local high schools. This includes vetting, training and evaluating high school proctors. In addition, communicating and coordinating with high school district liaisons as needed 
  • Assist with the development of testing publications and communications in collaboration with the Communications & Marketing department.
  • As needed, establishes and maintains relationships for off-site non-high school testing.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in psychology, education, psychometrics, measurement, mathematics, or a closely related field 
  • 1-2 years’ experience proctoring exams in a classroom or testing center setting 
  • 2 years management and supervision experience 
  • 1 or more years’ providing excellent customer service in an education or business setting 
  • Computer skills including Internet and MS Office
  • Excellent problem-solving skills

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION

Salary Range: Anticipated starting salary range is $59,187.00- $60,212.00 annually. This salary is determined by the qualifications of the selected candidate balanced with departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information. CCA offers an excellent benefit plan, including generous leave, holiday, and education benefits. Full time employees immediately upon hire earn 15 hours a month annual leave and 10 hours a month sick leave.
