Salary range: A reasonable salary range estimate for this position is $112,000-$135,200.

Position description

The Department of Psychology (psychology.ucsd.edu) within the School of Social Sciences at UC San Diego invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position focused on computational mechanisms of behavior, with an anticipated start date of July 1st, 2025.

We seek candidates with a strong record of developing innovative computational approaches to understand the mechanistic bases of behavior in human and/or nonhuman animal models. Potential research expertise includes, but is not limited to, mathematical models, computer simulations, novel approaches to information processing, and/or large-scale neurodynamics.

The selected candidate will be responsible for establishing a rigorous, high-quality research program that complements existing departmental strengths in Behavioral Neuroscience, Cognitive Psychology, Developmental Psychology, and/or Social Psychology. Additional responsibilities include teaching graduate and undergraduate level courses and mentoring students within the Department of Psychology, as well as participating in department and university service.

Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

Candidates must have a PhD or be ABD (all but dissertation) in Psychology, Neuroscience, Cognitive Science, Computer Science, or a related field. Candidates must also have a minimum of 3 publications or preprints in a relevant field.
