Title: Adjunct Instructor - English 101, Biology 137 & 139

Salary:
 $700/credit hour

Work Location: Varies (On-Site/Remote/Hybrid)

Gateway Community College has excellent opportunities for individuals seeking adjunct contract instructor positions in various disciplines. **Currently hiring for:

  • ENG 101 - Tuesday and Thursday at our Boone campus from 8:00am - 9:15am
  • BIO 137 -  Human Anatomy and Physiology - online
  • BIO 139 - Human Anatomy and Physiology II (Hybrid)

 

Job Duties:

  • Provide instruction and familiarize students within the specific areas of study.
  • Provide instruction to students in both theory and practice in their respective field(s).
  • Maintenance and care of classrooms, labs & training materials will also be expected.
  • Keep abreast of changes in their field and help keep the programs updated.
  • Technical positions provide students with the background, knowledge, and basic skills needed to function effectively on the job.
  • Preferred candidates would be able to teach at various levels to help support their programs. Candidates should be energetic, enthusiastic, and have an in-depth understanding of the principles in their discipline or field.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • General Education classes require a Master's degree with a concentration in the teaching discipline (a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours).
  • Bachelor's degree, depending on the position.
  • Passion to provide the highest quality educational environment for all our students.

  • Experience in and understanding of the importance of working with students from diverse populations.
  • Excellent organizational skills; high attention to detail; independent; self-motivated; able to work in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to communicate with many individuals at all levels throughout the internal college environment as well as external business and community partners, representing his/herself in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Ability to communicate clearly verbally and, in writing.
  • Ability to multi-task, work under deadlines, and prioritize projects to meet deadlines with high levels of efficiency and accuracy.
  • Must have proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Industry certifications are a plus.
  • Experience in and understanding of the importance of working with students from diverse populations.
  • Experience working at the community college level.
