Job Summary

The Financial Aid Director will oversee and manage all aspects of the university’s Financial Aid Department.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Provide executive leadership and administrative oversight to the University's financial aid department. 
  • Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with students, faculty, staff, and other university departments.
  • Develop and implement strategies, policies, and procedures to maintain and improve student opportunities and enrollment via accessible financial aid programs.
  • Trains and educates financial aid staff, ensuring staff are equipped to counsel students on available financial aid options and opportunities.
  • Develops or oversees the development of educational materials to educate students, parents, and other borrowers on the differences in financial aid options including government loans, private loans, grants, scholarships, work-study, and other forms.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with representatives from private and government lending agencies.
  • Drafts, reviews, and implements policies, guidelines, and standards to ensure students maintain financial and academic eligibility for financial aid.
  • Periodically audits and reviews recordkeeping processes to ensure accurate and complete recordkeeping in accordance with federal, state, local, and laws, regulations, and university policies.
  • Monitors financial aid practices to ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws and regulations and university policies.
  • Maintains knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, required
  • Master’s degree in finance preferred.
  • Five years of experience in a related field with a minimum of three years of supervisory experience required.
