Senior Thermographer
Your tasks

Primary Objective:

Provide world class field engineering customer service customer through efficient delivery of GRC's Infrared Thermographic Services per the GRC baseline and client-specific contract.

Provide value-added risk engineering services and be a trusted advisor to the client.

Identify client needs and communicate potential opportunities to the Account Engineer.

Key criteria for Performance Evaluation should be based on the following:

Provide high quality IR Thermographic field engineering services and corresponding report content should be of high quality Conduct effective/efficient field engineering services (on average) within ~100% of the quoted hours (or better). This leads to Account Efficiencies and Profitability.

Provide client satisfaction and retention through quality services and excellence in communications with all levels at the plant (from maintenance, to Facility/Manufacturing, to Operations and up to Plant/Site Management.

Qualifications:

Ideally, a minimum of 10-yrs of experience in the industry of Infrared Thermography and/or as an Electrician is desired (if candidate is an electrician, in-house infrared thermography training is available and will be considered for the right candidate).

Journeyman Electrician is optimal/preferred, but not required.

2-year technical degree in Maintenance, Reliability, Electrical/Mechanical or equivalent experience.

Level I or II Certified Infrared Thermographer meeting qualifications of ASNT or equivalent by an ISO 9001 or equivalent registered company. Level I candidates will be considered with strong electrical and technical skill-set.

A working knowledge and understanding of basic principles/fundamentals of electricity and electrical components, electrical power panels, switchgear, motor control centers, breakers, disconnects, transformers, machinery and mechanical systems, etc.

Have a strong base of electrical system components, electricity, hazards associated, manufacturing equipment and machinery, etc.

Can apply technical knowledge to client needs to assist in electrical/mechanical or other technical troubleshooting and business decision-making process.

Experience in servicing major accounts.

Excellent communications skills

Possess strong Computer and Technology Skill-set. Ability to learn GRC's technology, equipment, electronic software and interface between external devices (imager, tablet, digital camera, media) and laptop (Internet, Microsoft Office Suite, infrared software programs, etc.)

Ability to adapt to Global Risk Consultants systems and products (website, EDA, workload, etc.)

Ability to write technical content, identify probable cause and outline recommendations for resolution of deficiencies identified.

Must be able to climb ladders of upwards of 3-stories tall or more, be physically fit to walk extensively throughout facilities each day, traverse catwalks, rooftops and move about any client facility / work sites to information for survey reports.

Ability to work with administrative and support staff.

Strategic Property Loss Control Training to Be Provided (For Property Checklist work).

General Responsibilities:

Field Engineering Surveys to meet GRC baseline and client-specific requirements (ASI's).

Proficiencies in Infrared Thermography, Thermal Imaging techniques and conducting sitewide inspections. This would apply to all electrical system voltage classes (Low-, Mediumand High-Voltage) as well as strategic mechanical systems

Ensure all applicable electrical equipment is "scanned" throughout all of the site's facilities (including but not limited to Utility Services, Switchgear, Switchboards, MCC's, Machine Control Panels, Production Machinery, Bus Ducts, Distribution Panelboards, Mechanical Equipment, Refrigeration, HVAC equipment, Air Compressors, Rooftop equipment (RTU's), and elevated mezzanine equipment, etc.)

Proficiencies in Airborne Ultrasound equipment and utilization (all Medium-/High-Voltage and strategic use of Low-Voltage equipment, where applicable) * Note: For select candidates, ultrasonic examination would not be a mandatory requirement. However, formal training is provided by GRC and consideration for formal training/certification would be given.

Perform Visual Examination (site-wide assessments for all applicable substandard electrical systems conditions, Code or Standards Violations, wiring practices and/or identification of any potential anomalies posing an electrical risk or reliability).

Full understanding of the GRC Baseline Account Servicing Instructions (ASI's).

Conduct thorough review of all client-specific ASI's.

Where necessary, conduct brief review(s) of GRC's Boiler/Machinery and/or Fire & Associated Perils Loss Prevention Reports to help better understand the client's operations in advance of the survey inspection.

Complete high-quality TUV SUD GRC Infrared Thermographic Survey Reports:

Ensure Equipment Inventory is fully vetted, listing all applicable power panels.

Utilization of TUV SUD GRC's technology (thermal imaging cameras, Ultraprobes, tablets and other laptop-interface devices)

Ensure all thermographic imagery reflects high accuracy in temperature readings, use of all proper and matches digital imagery.

Ensure all Findings accurately identify and match-up with the appropriate equipment, Probable Cause and Recommendations reflect accuracy results for site resolution of the findings.

Proper and consistent identification of each Recommendation in terms of both:

Severity Class categories: FYI- Non-Thermal, 1-star Minor, 2-star Intermediate, 3-star Serious, 4-star Critical * Impact Rating: Low, Moderate, High Note: Refer to TUV SUD GRC's baseline Severity / Impact ratings.

Administrative Duties:

Candidates for Senior Thermographer positions within GRC should possess the following attributes and qualifications:

Be self-motivated, conscientious and able to work effectively, efficiently and independently.

Be willing and able to travel up to 75% (3-weeks per month). Lesser degree of travel may be possible at times if there is sufficient workload within the employees given geographic territory

When higher level of technical abilities are needed, seek out technical support from Global Infrared Manager and/or designated senior level team members identified.

Ability to work with administrative and support staff in cooperative and positive manner.

Commitment to continuous improvement.

Be willing to take-on additional assignments, projects and tasks assigned by management.
