Job Description

The Cell Therapy and Cancer Immunology program in the Abigail Wexner Research Institute at Nationwide Children's Hospital is expanding its faculty. The mission of the CTCI program is to bring novel cellular therapies to children and young adults with cancer or other inherited or acquired conditions (e.g., hematopoietic, infectious, immunologic, etc) through scientific discovery, cellular and genetic engineering, and efficient manufacturing for rapid translation to the clinic.

About the Faculty Position

  • Seeking applicants at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level with an independent laboratory research program focused on cellular therapy and/or related immunobiology
  • Tenure-track faculty appointment in Department of Pediatrics, The Ohio State University
  • Broad collaborative research potential throughout the Abigail Wexner Research Institute
  • Consideration of joint positions in Centers for Vaccines and Immunity, Childhood Cancer, or Gene Therapy

Qualifications Required

  • MD, MD/PhD, or PhD
  • Track record of grant funding
  • Track record of high quality first- or senior-author research publications relevant to cell-based therapies

About the CTCI Program

  • Rapid growth- developed over 30 IND applications, 15 investigator-initiated cell therapy trials, 10 investigational cell therapy products, and over 60 patients treated with cellular therapy in 5 years
  • Program integration with OSUCCC and the Pelotonia Institute for Immuno-Oncology
  • CTCI infrastructure supports clinical trial development, IND preparation and submission, and GMP development/manufacturing of clinical-grade therapeutics
  • Central manufacturing of investigation products for multi-institutional trials
