The College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences (CAHS) at the University of Southern Maine is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Human Resource Liaison to support the Dean's Office. This vital role involves coordinating personnel actions, managing employee contracts, and serving as the primary liaison between CAHS and various university and system offices on human resource matters. The HR Liaison will assist the Dean's Office with hiring, compensation, onboarding, personnel reviews, and other HR processes to ensure smooth and efficient operations within the College.

As the Human Resources Liaison this position coordinates personnel related actions on all College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences employees and acts as the liaison on Human Resources matters between the College and all other University and System offices on and off campus. This position manages compensation contracts for all College employees and facilitates the hiring, training, and performance reviews of each staff and faculty member; interprets, analyzes, and develops College, University and System policies and procedures; assists the Financial Manager with employee salary issues; and advises the Dean on all personnel and administrative matters.

This is a full-time position located on our Portland Campus with an annual salary up to $51,000 commensurate with experience.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least 3 years of experience in human resources, preferably in an academic or higher education setting
